Hudson Valley’s “Fiesta Latina” Festival Celebrates America. The committee this year is recognizing one outstanding individual Jose A Gomerez, City of Newburgh Police Commissioner for his outstanding Leadership as the first Latino Police Commissioner of a major city in NYS and in the Hudson Valley by presenting him/her with our annual “Con Orgullo Lo Nuestro Award”. Also we will have a 65th Infantry Regiment “Borinqueneers” the all Puerto Rican Army unit. Additionally, we will have a reading and Book Signing by renowned author and best seller Herman Mendoza “Shifting Shadows” We intend to conduct a press conference and invite the media on morning of Saturday August 27, at 10:00 am. Fiesta Latina promises to be a thrilling exhibition of hallmark Latin culture as legendary Latin Salsa “CUBORICUA ” is scheduled and will be performing.
In the words of Hudson Valley Fiesta Latina at Museum Village, Chairman Rubén Estrada, “ Being that now more than ever The Fiesta Latina is a celebration of American History promoting Family, Faith, and Country. Sharing the goals of the 19th Century living history of Museum Village, this gathering will provide an experience of history and culture to provoke thought, discussion, and educational enrichment. Moreover, we wish to encourage and promote true American History within the newly arriving Latino immigrant community.” In hopes that this educational experience will instill pride of being a Proud American.
