Bronck Museum Heritage Craft Fair
October 1, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Once again it is time for the Heritage Craft Fair at the Bronck Museum south of Coxsackie, NY. On Sunday October 1st from Noon to 4PM the Dutch farmstead will open its ancient houses and venerable barns for the demonstration and sale of traditional American crafts. Throughout the houses, on porches, nestled beside the barns, and spread across the lawns, crafters will be offering for sale all manner of traditional handmade goods. Sheep graze in the shade of an oak tree. A wagon pulled by brawny dappled gray farm horses will roll up to the front of the broad Dutch barn to pick up passengers for a little trip west over Coxsackie Creek. Stroll along the old King’s Road to visit the farm’s unusual thirteen-sided hay barn and the Ice Harvesting exhibit. Visit the crafters offering a variety of hand knitted, hand sewn, and quilted goods, hand spun knitting wool, spicy candles, handmade teddy bears, wooden toys, pottery, and much more. Chat with crafters as they work. Buy apples, pumpkins, maple syrup, honey products, homemade jams, and more from local growers. Purchase wonderful things for your home or unique Christmas presents. Sip the potent drink that Pieter Bronck concocted over three hundred years ago. Visit Pieter’s Provisions and get a little something to eat. Place your bids in the Silent Auction then rest awhile and enjoy American bluegrass and country music performed by Running the River. Make the short trip to the Bronck Museum Heritage Craft Fair and celebrate for one early autumn afternoon the rural heritage of America.
