Outdoor Tours at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site
May 21, 2021 - May 23, 2021
Join a 30-minute Outdoor Guided Tour with a knowledgeable Museum Educator. Explore the scenic grounds of the Thomas Cole National Historic Site in Catskill, New York, and learn about the artist and early environmentalist Thomas Cole (1801-1848). The grounds feature flower gardens, a kitchen garden, and a sweeping view of the Catskill Mountains.
Outdoor Guided Tours take place entirely outdoors except for checking in at the Visitor Center, located inside the 1839 Old Studio building. Tours involve negotiating a flight of 12 stairs to an outdoor porch. Guided tours are limited to 12 people. Tickets are available by advance online registration only.
Before your visit, please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Please arrive at least ten minutes before the tour and pick up your tickets at the Visitor Center and Gift Shop, located in the 1839 Old Studio building. Tours start promptly. We are not able to accommodate late arrivals. All participants are required to wear a face covering and maintain a six-foot distance from individuals who are not part of your household for the duration of the tour. By purchasing a ticket, you are acknowledging the policies stated above. In the event of tour-prohibitive inclement weather, we will contact you at the email address or phone number provided at checkout.
Please be aware that the interior paths at the historic site are gravel. The parking lot is standard asphalt and includes a number of handicap spaces. Outdoor Guided Tours involve negotiating a flight of 12 stairs to an outdoor porch. If you need to discuss specific accessibility concerns, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
