Summer is the perfect time to explore exciting Hudson Valley destinations! Whether you’re visiting favorite spots or discovering new attractions, be inspired by what you find so close to home.

Savor Hudson Valley wine paired with a view: Benmarl Winery

Nestled atop a scenic hillside in Marlboro, Benmarl Winery is a hidden treasure for wine lovers. Its 37-acre estate lays claim to the oldest continuously operating vineyard in America and boasts breathtaking views of the Hudson River landscape below. With roots that date back to the 1700s and a location just 70 miles north of New York City, the winery is a true destination for unrivaled wines made entirely from New York State grapes. To best experience the beauty of Benmarl Winery, there’s nothing like a visit to the property itself. After passing the winding Cabernet Franc vines during a slow amble down the driveway, visitors make their way to a table outside for a glass of wine or, better yet, a tasting flight of four wines. Benmarl requests reservations in advance, with seatings available in 90-minute intervals.

Discover American’s historic past: The `76 House

The ‘76 House, America’s oldest restaurant, is a 300-year-old structure lovingly restored to pristine condition by the Norden Family. Listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, The ‘76 House served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War, and also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. However, the most celebrated episode in the history of The ‘76 House was when the tavern served as the prison of the Revolution’s most notorious spy, Major John André, who plotted with the arch traitor Benedict Arnold, for the surrender of West Point. Today, patrons enjoy fabulous food in a one-of-a-kind setting that features four glowing fireplaces, live music, a gorgeous garden patio, wine dinners, and the tavern’s famous Sunday brunch — all of which have elevated The ‘76 House to one of the area’s top dining destinations.
