6. Thunder Ridge Ski Area

Located in Patterson, NY, Thunder Ridge Ski Area is just an hour away from NYC. Featuring 100% snowmaking coverage and convenient access via the Metro-North Ski Train, it's never been easier to hit the slopes. With a free shuttle from the Patterson train station, you can spend more time skiing and less time commuting. Thunder Ridge offers a variety of trails for the whole family.

7. Bear Mountain Ice Rink

Nestled at the historic Bear Mountain Inn, the Bear Mountain Ice Rink has been voted the “Best Ice Skating Rink” in the Hudson Valley.
