Dia: Beacon

Across the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, Dia: Beacon houses Dia Art Foundation's collection of works from the 1960s to the present in a former Nabisco box printing factory on the banks of the Hudson River. As one of the largest exhibition spaces in the country for modern and contemporary art, visitors can enjoy large scale installations from renowned artists such as Richard Serra, Dan Flavin and Agnes Martin. Manitoga / The Russel Wright Design Center

Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art

Take a jaunt back across the river and continue north to the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz to view an impressive collection ranging from 17th to 20th century American, European, and Asian works. The Fields Sculpture Park

Across the river once more, discover the Omi International Arts Center in Ghent. The Fields Sculpture Park located here features contemporary sculpture in a natural environment. 100 acres of farmland are dotted with a broad range of large-scale work by established and emerging American and international artists. Empire State Plaza Art Collection

Travel on to the New York State capitol city of Albany. The Empire State Plaza Art Collection, made up of 92 paintings, sculptures and tapestries, is considered to be the greatest collection of modern art in any single public space in the country. Foreland is a campus for contemporary art that brings together artists, craftsmen, and commercial tenants in an 85,000-square-foot waterfront setting.
