3. Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion | Dutchess County

Now in its 46th year of scaring the daylights out of people—Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion will feature The Asylum (haunted by demonic, tortured souls) and The Wicked Woods (which includes Deadwood Gulch, the Funhouse, Dark Nature, Lost Souls Cemetery, Merry Krampus and more!) 4. Headless Horseman Haunted Attractions | Ulster County

5. Murder at Cherry Hill: A Harrowing Walk through a Historic Evening | Albany County

On May 7, 1827, a notorious murder occurred at Cherry Hill that resulted in two sensational trials and Albany’s last public hanging. Come relive that night! Meet the historical players, walk in the footsteps of a murderer, and revel in harrowing titillation during this annual October event! This tour is recommended for patrons 12 years and up. October 19th-22nd and October 26th-29th at 5:30pm and 7pm.

7. "Ghost Town" Doodletown | Rockland County

With its history dating back to the 17th century, the forgotten town of Doodletown (now part of Bear Mountain State Park) is easily one of the most interesting, abandoned places to explore in New York. Demolished in 1965, visitors can still see foundations of old buildings, and the roads once used by the British troops on their way to battle. After a day of exploration, be sure to drive up to Perkins Memorial Tower, where you can experience breathtaking views. Open year-round.
