Holiday Events in the Hudson Valley
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Get into the spirit at one of these winter holiday events – Santa may even make a guest appearance!
1. Celebration of Lights Parade & Fireworks Poughkeepsie, NY
In conjunction with the historic Bardavon theater, the City of Poughkeepsie hosts a spectacular event on Friday November 30, at 6:30 p.m. Watch the parade of lights, tree lighting, and fireworks display over the Hudson River.
2. Christmas Parade Suffern, NY
On Saturday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m., the Village of Suffern kicks off its holiday season with the annual Christmas Parade. Parade features floats, marchers, community groups, bands and Santa!
3. Holiday Lights in Bloom Hamptonburgh, NY
The Orange County Arboretum displays beautiful holiday lights from November 23 to December 30 on weekends from 5 to 8 p.m. The Arboretum will be in “full bloom” with beautiful, garden-themed light displays in the form of flowers, animals and insects.
4. Sinterklaas Kingston, NY
Sinterklaas, a legendary figure based on Saint Nicholas, departs from the historic Kingston waterfront on Saturday, November 24 after a full day of open houses, musical performances, workshops, and a Children’s Maritime Parade on Broadway in Kingston.
5. Breakfast with Santa Mahopac, NY
Enjoy breakfast with Santa himself at the Putnam County Golf Course on Sunday, December 16. Bring your camera to get photos of the kids on Santa’s lap!
6. Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Valhalla, NY
This one-of-a-kind holiday experience features an outdoor ice skating rink, holiday circus, rides, local food trucks and the FUNderland Village. Open on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 10 p.m., and Sundays and weekdays from 5 to 9 p.m. November 23 to December 31.
7. Magic of Christmas Albany, NY
On Sunday, December 2 experience the Magic of Christmas, a family program of joyful tunes and Christmas carols presented by the Albany Symphony at the historic Palace Theatre.
8. Basilica Farm & Flea Holiday Market Hudson, NY
Basilica Farm & Flea is inspired by the abundance of passionate and talented farmers, collectors and artisans in the Hudson Valley. The market features regional vendors selling their wares and farm-fresh food November 23 to 25. Come get your holiday gifts!
9. Annual Troy Victorian Stroll Troy, NY
Join in the merriment as the historic streets of downtown Troy transform into a magical stage offering more than 100 free attractions on Sunday, December 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be rides, refreshments, an arts & craft show and more.
10. Festival of Trees Leeds, NY
A weekend-long event, November 8 – 11 the Festival of Trees celebrates the community and holiday season. Enjoy a Holiday Photo Night on Thursday, the Opening Night Gala on Friday and a Public Exhibition on Saturday & Sunday.
