Holiday on the Lake & Christmas Village: Historic Hamlet of Carmel: Holiday on the Lake Christmas Village, Parade, Tree Lighting & Menorah Lighting December 2nd & December 10th in the Historic Hamlet of Carmel. Holiday on the Lake in the Historic Hamlet of Carmel is happening December 2, 2023. The fun begins at 2:30PM with the fun & lively Christmas Village sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. The Christmas Village will feature vendors, food, children’s crafts and cookies and milk with Santa! Enjoy wagon and trolley rides around the hamlet beginning at 4pm Cornerstone Park Tree Lighting “Honoring our Veterans” is at 5pm Live Music/Entertainment/Parade/Tree Lighting/Santa Parade of Lights steps off at 6:30 pm followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony on the shores of beautiful Lake Gleneida.

As part of its Holiday on the Lake festivities, the Hamlet of Carmel Civic Association (HCCA) will be sponsoring a menorah lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 10 at 4:00 pm. The holiday celebration will begin with live music. Rabbi Avi Korer of Chabad of Putnam County will preside over this Chanukah festival ceremony with singing and refreshments. The menorah will be located on the shore of Lake Gleneida, at the intersection of Routes 6 and 52 (opposite the Reed Memorial Library). The public is invited to come help us celebrate.
