Kick off pride season with this inaugural Pride Night on the Walkway Over the Hudson. At dusk, a group of 100-plus flag marshals will parade a 15-foot-wide, 1,000-foot-long portion of Gilbert Baker’s original eight-color Pride flag from the Dutchess County side of the Walkway over the river to the Ulster County side. The Walkway’s new LED lighting system will have the pathway illuminated in a wash of rainbow light. LGBTQ+ community groups from Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Rockland, Columbia and Albany Counties will set up interactive booths in the parks on both sides of the Walkway to share information about their organizations and summer Pride activities happening throughout the region.
